Glamping Tent-Cabins

Glamping Tips: What To Bring For Your Stay

  • Food! Pack a cooler or two filled with ice, food and your beverages.
  • Clothing and personal care items. Towels, soap/shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc. Our brand new showers are just a short walk located in the center of the campground.
  • Bluetooth speaker or music.
  • Family, friends and fun!

Each Tent Cabin Includes these Products/Items:

  • A queen-size bed with a memory foam Serta mattress (product description coming soon). Each mattress is enclosed by a bug preventive layer that is between sheets and mattress.
  • A small nightstand positioned close to one of our power strips so you can charge your devices, have a place for your glasses, etc.
  • Six pillows, four on the bed and one for each cot by perfectsleeper by Serta. These are cooling gel memory foam pillows that offer more personal neck support than standard foam or down pillows.
  • Cotton-rich blend bed linens with 400 thread count and sateen weave. Cot linens of 100% ultra light microfiber material. Each bed has a queen-size comforter and extra throw blanket for those chilly nights. Each cot has a twin-size thick comforter.

  • A garbage can, broom and dustpan to help you keep your tent-cabin clean during your stay.
  • Power outlets via two power strips each connected to 20-amp circuits.
  • Bug and mosquito control for inside your tent. We provide an aromatherapy essential oil diffuser with lemongrass oil. This is both relaxing for our guests and our very effective secret weapon to keep your tent-cabins pest-free! We can also bring you TSCTBA brand mosquito repellent packets which use active ingredients of citronella oil and peppermint as well as inactive ingredients of corn cobs, wintergreen oil and cotton. Both are 100% natural products, but care should be taken if used around children or pets.
  • One can of Deep Woods Off spray.
  • A utility caddy with a re-usable set plates, utensils and beverage cups for four people; four Kirkland Signature Breakfast Blend K-cups, Nestle Coffee Mate no-diary, lactose free creamer, Splenda and sugar packets; a fire starter/lighter to get that campfire going; a set of games that includes a deck of standard playing cards, Uno and Yahtzee!
  • Corkscrew, bottle opener, can opener, flashlight, dish tub, drying rack, dish soap, washcloths and dish towels.
  • A small room fan to keep air circulating.
  • 24 hour access to our new restroom and shower building.
  • Four gallons of fresh drinking water.
  • A single serve Keurig K-mini coffee maker.
  • Two deck chairs and a bistro table plus two folding camp chairs.

  • A Tri-Pod Grill for cooking over your campfire along with grilling utensils for burgers, hot dogs, etc.

We are the only campground on the Iron Range to offer camping options for people who want to camp, but don't have gear or a camper/RV of their own. We want to make the camping experience that is accessible to everyone. When you visit Gilbert and our area attractions, you can rent one of our new tent-cabins or you can book any of our traditional tent sites and add a rental tent. We take care of setting everything up ... just pack your vehicle and hit the road!

Welcome to Kabina Schley and Kabina Pettit -- our newest camping experience! Kabina is the Slovenian word for cabin. Schley and Pettit are the names of two of three mines that created Lake Ore-Be-Gone in Gilbert. The words together represent our family heritage and our hometown history. Welcome!

Our Tent-Cabins are Available from Memorial Day Weekend Through the First Sunday of October

  • We have two glamping tent-cabins -- sites G1 and G4 -- on the hillside, tucked in the woods. Both of our tent-cabins are on a wood platform, set up with a queen-size bed with pillows and linens and (up to two) single-person cots, lights and charging outlet, 4 gallons of fresh drinking water, a morning coffee service and 1 bundle of firewood.
  • Each tent cabin also comes with a re-usable set plates, utensils and beverage cups for 4 people, a deck of standard playing cards, Uno and Yahtzee!
  • The campsites come with a picnic table and central firepit.
  • Site G1 (Kabina Pettit) has a 15x15 pad for an additional tent and space for up to two hammocks tied between the trees. Parking for up to three vehicles is at the edge of a short walking trail - vehicles are prohibited on the walking trail. Trailers must park in our overflow parking area.
  • Site G4 (Kabina Schley) has one of the best views in the campground, a gathering space around a large fire-ring and space for up to two hammocks. Great for inviting your friends to hang out. There is parking for up to four vehicles on-site and trailer parking is in the nearby overflow parking area.
  • Tent-cabins can be rented for a maximum of a 7-day stay. A $100 cleaning deposit required for each tent-cabin. The cleaning deposit will be refunded at checkout if the unit is left in good condition. Deductions will be made for damage and/or excessive cleaning. Pets are allowed in our tent-cabins, but any damage will be deducted from the cleaning deposit.
