Kabina is the Slovenian word for cabin, reflecting our family's roots since we emigrated from Slovenia in the 1950s and settled in Gilbert. Schley and Pettit are named after two of the three mines that created Lake Ore-Be-Gone in Gilbert, symbolizing our family heritage and hometown mining history! Welcome to Gilbert - Minnesota's Off-Road Capital

Let us be your base-camp when you come to enjoy Minnesota's Off-Road Capital or any of our local attractions. As a family-owned Iron Range RV park since 2004, we provide a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of open space for you to roam about. Experience the best value in Northern Minnesota camping right here in Gilbert!

Check-in is 3 p.m. / Check-out is 12 noon.

At our Iron Range RV park, we allow up to 4 adults per campsite; additional guests are $7 per day per person. Plus, children 15 years old and under always stay for free, making it a great option for Northern Minnesota camping!

Campground Store

Our Iron Range RV park campground store is open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 3-9 p.m. We sell firewood, ice, and camping supplies, and we also have propane tank exchange available on site. For those enjoying Northern Minnesota camping, we offer rentals of outdoor games like ladder ball toss, beanbag toss/cornhole, and bocce ball, as well as individual tents, 10x10 canopies, and other camping items available by the day or for the weekend. Mesabi Massage Studio

Mesabi Massage is open 5 days a week by appointment from May to October, conveniently located within our Iron Range RV park. Owner Paul Skrbec LMT/CPT has been practicing massage since 2015 and is excited to offer his skills to both campground guests and clients from the local area. All sessions must be booked online, and you will need to complete an online intake form prior to your appointment. A credit card is required for booking. The massage studio is situated inside our campground office, making it easily accessible for those enjoying Northern Minnesota camping.

Campground Water Notice

We have City of Gilbert water and sewer, with water pressure reduced to 70 p.s.i. for all campsites at our Iron Range RV park to prevent any damage to campers and RVs. Each campsite includes a backflow prevention valve on each faucet. Please do not remove these! These are required by the Minnesota Department of Health and are inspected upon every guest checkout. If these backflow preventers are found missing, you will be charged for their replacement. A water filling station is available at our office during normal office hours. You may use this to fill your camper's internal water tanks prior to parking during times of the year when water is not available at campsites. If you need to fill your water tank when our office is closed, call or text us at 218-248-7362 so that we can set the hoses out for you. We keep the hoses in the office building when our office is closed. Our restroom and shower building is heated and is available for guest use from May 1 through October 31. No code is required to access the restrooms or showers. Early season - May 1 - early May: Water will remain turned off at campsites and the ATV/OHV wash stations until there is no more danger of overnight freezing. Late season - mid-October until October 31: Water will be turned off at campsites and the ATV/OHV wash stations in mid-October after we have consecutive nights of freezing temperatures overnight, which is important for our Northern Minnesota camping experience.
